More About Our Location

High Pastures is a Christian retreat center available to any group or individual who wishes to take time out from worldly care in order to grow closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Unclutterered by hurried schedules and electronic influences, High Pastures is truly a place of retreat.

Seek renewal in a pastoral setting with wildflowers, wildlife, scenic view, and quiet places along the hiking trails, stream, waterfalls, and natural baptismal pool.

High Pastures is an ideal place for:

  • drawing closer to God
  • resting in the Lord
  • regrouping resources
  • spending time with family

THE PRAYER TOWER

The Prayer Tower, located high up on the mountain, was designed by High Pastures founder Betty Motsinger. It was completed in 1981. While here, take the time to visit this serene spot and to enjoy the construction and symbolism found there.

The name is from Proverbs 18:10: “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runneth into it and is safe.” The Prayer Tower is just that, a refuge, open at all times for those who go in the name of the Lord to find safety.

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my going. Psalms 40:2
